“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.”

—Fred Rogers

Warm Welcome to a Truly Inspiring Preschool

Little Lambs is a program where imaginative play, caring about one another, and nature exploration are the keystones. It is a wonderful first preschool experience for children as it is in the home of Joanie Lamb, giving children the sense of comfort that a home provides.

Our preschool is truly inspiring. We learn, play and share in the heart of the Divine. Children come from all faith backgrounds, and our aim is to create a safe (in all ways), nurturing, fun, light-filled space where we begin our day with gratitude and an intention to be our kindest selves. We stop during the day for moments of mindfulness, to bless our food, and practice caring ways of communication. One of our most important roles as a teacher is to stay attuned to our the children, and so we take seriously our own attunement and the container that we hold.

Our daily rhythm:

10:00 – 10:40 Free play with simple, mostly wood toys
10:40  – 11:10 Circle time: Circle Song, Show and Tell, Talk about our Theme and Chakra of the Month, Yoga, Music/Dance/Movement, Meditation
11:10 – 11:30 Blessing and Snack
11:30 – 11:45 Potty, water, and shoes
11:45 – 12:45 Outside time
12:45 – 1:00 Shoes off and hand washing
1:00 – 1:30 Lunch
1:30 – 2:00 Art
